Chester Bennington, Linkin Park singer, committed suicide
Police sources told the American site that the singer hung himself in a private residence in Palos Verdes Estates in Los Angeles County. His body was discovered Thursday morning shortly before 9am.
Aged 41, Chester Bennington was the father of six children he had with two different wives.
TMZ reports that he was very close to Chris Cornell, the singer and guitarist of the Soundgarden group, who committed suicide last May.
Formed in 1996, Linkin Park has written many hit songs including "In the End", "Numb", "Faint" and "Crawling". The group had just released their new album "One More Light" and had kicked off its North American tour. He was scheduled to perform in Montreal on August 10 at the Bell Center.
